Epoxy Floor Warranty: The Right Questions to Ask

Not all epoxy warranties mean the same thing. Here's what to actually verify before signing.

Workmanship vs Product Warranties

A workmanship warranty from the installer covers the install: prep, application, adhesion. A product warranty from the manufacturer covers the resin defects. You want both — they cover different failures.

What Should Be Covered

  • Adhesion failure not caused by client abuse
  • Delamination from prep-related issues
  • Hot-tire pickup on residential garage installs
  • Blistering from moisture where testing was performed

Common Exclusions

UV yellowing on non-UV-stable topcoats. Chemical damage from acid, harsh solvents, or improper cleaning. Structural cracks that mirror through. Impact damage from dropped tools or equipment.

How to Verify the Warranty Is Real

Ask for it in writing. Ask how long the company has been in business. Ask about a previous warranty claim they honored — a real company can answer.
